Amber Lassiter is a highly qualified educator, school leader, literacy coach, adjunct professor, reading specialist, professional development trainer, and author with extensive experience. Amber has taught and supported the reading development of kids in the K-12 sector as well as adult learners using her degrees, reading specialist, and school leadership certifications. Regardless of the roles she has held, Amber’s passion has remained the same: assisting all children in becoming excellent readers. Amber is passionate about literacy education because she struggled academically in reading and writing.She is the author of the award-winning children’s book “What’s Your Favorite Color?” This purpose-built read-aloud book was created to assist students in strengthening their reading comprehension skills.
Additionally, she has spoken at educational conferences in New Jersey, New York, and San Juan, Puerto Rico about a variety of topics addressing teaching and learning. Ms. Lassiter has been interviewed and featured on the radio show GOBRAVE as well as the social media platform Author Shout, where she discussed contemporary literacy issues. Amber has facilitated full-day workshops in New Jersey school districts to improve the delivery of classroom reading instruction.
Amber is an energizing speaker who is well-known for her boundless energy and contagious excitement. Her ideas are both interesting and original, while also being extremely practical. Amber is now pursuing a doctorate in Educational Leadership with a focus on reading acquisition. She intends to use the findings of her study to assist teachers and school leaders in adopting the suggestions that comprehensive research reports indicate is the most effective method of teaching reading.
